Improving Access to Quality Healthcare

"Every Montanan deserves access to high-quality, affordable healthcare.  America provides the best quality healthcare in the world.  Unfortunately, many Americans cannot afford to access that system.  From my position on the front lines, serving on the Labor, Health, and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee, I’m constantly fighting for policies that will lower the cost of providing healthcare."

Denny is making a difference:

  • Voted twice to override President Bush’s veto of a common-sense SCHIP solution that will provide healthcare for uninsured kids, while responsibly managing taxpayer funds to prevent adults and illegal aliens from receiving benefits
  • Fighting for the passage of the Small Business Health Fairness Act that would allow small businesses to pool their resources together to buy group insurance policies for their employees
  • Secured $13 million in grants to 14 Community Health Centers in Montana, including $500,000 to open a new center in Havre
  • Secured funding for Montana’s frontline caregivers including the following just for 2009:
    • CT Scan machine at Daniels Memorial Hospital in Scobey
    • St. Vincent Mobile Mammography Unit in Billings
    • Benefis Cardiology Suite in Great Falls
    • St. Patrick's Mental Health Facility in Missoula
    • VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic in Billings
    • Equipment for Roundup Memorial Hospital
