Rehberg Raises Over $1.2 Million In 1st Quarter, Reports Over $2.7 Million Cash-On-Hand

As six consecutive polls show him leading incumbent Democrat Jon Tester in Montana's U.S. Senate race, Congressman Denny Rehberg today reported raising over $1.2 million in the first quarter of 2012 with over $2.7 million cash-on-hand.

"Six consecutive polls show Denny in the lead, and our strong fundraising will enable us to continue getting our message out to folks here in Montana," said Rehberg campaign manager Erik Iverson.  "After running on an anti-lobbyist platform, Tester has taken more campaign cash from lobbyists than any other member of Congress this election cycle, but no amount of money will distract Montana voters from Tester's 95 percent support for President Obama's costly, liberal agenda."

New Study: Obama-Tester Health Care Law Will Add More Than $340 Billion To Deficit

As he cast the deciding vote to pass President Obama's health care law, Senator Jon Tester said it would "save taxpayers a lot of money" and claimed it "improved health care for Montanans by... cutting the federal deficit by hundreds of billions of dollars."

But the Washington Post reports today that a new analysis, "by Charles Blahous, a conservative policy analyst whom Obama approved in 2010 as the GOP trustee for Medicare and Social Security," shows that "President Obama’s landmark health-care initiative, long touted as a means to control costs, will actually add more than $340 billion to the nation’s budget woes over the next decade..."

Anti-Job Environmental Obstructionist Group Opens Campaign Offices To Support Tester Re-Election

New reports show that the anti-job environmental obstructionist group leading the fight to kill the Keystone XL pipeline has opened campaign offices to aid the re-election bid of Senator Jon Tester.  As Politico reports:

The "League of Conservation Voters has spent out more than $79,000 so far this year on a canvassing program in Montana to boost Democratic Sen. Jon Tester’s re-election bid. LCV is renting offices in Billings and Missoula as home bases for the mailing and door-to-door operations. Tester’s campaign is one of the group’s top priorities this year, and its efforts to back him are just getting started, said LCV’s vice president of communications, Mike Palamuso.
