The biggest threat to our country is the out-of-control federal government spending that’s occurring in Washington, D.C. I’m the only member of Montana’s congressional delegation to have voted against the failed so-called Stimulus bill, against President Obama's costly health care overhaul, and against the bailouts.
Unemployment is out of control. Businesses and families all across Montana are hurting. Too many in Washington, D.C. believe that increases in spending, taxes and regulations are the cornerstones to bringing us out of this recession. But we all have seen the gravity of their mistake.
Montana has some of the richest energy resources in the country. In order to tackle America’s increasing energy demand we need to look at all options. I support a four point plan to successfully meet our energy demands in an environmentally responsible manner.
Agriculture is the number one industry in Montana. But even today there are very serious problems facing the industry. As a fifth generation rancher I have dealt personally with many of the same problems facing Montana farmers and ranchers. I have seen how profits have decreased while costs continually rise. Montana needs to expand its role in the agricultural sector. We need to look into new markets, means and products. In order to keep Montana agriculture strong we must provide the tools to help our producers adapt.

Montanans are dedicated to serving their country. They have played an important role in making America great, risking their lives to protect the very freedoms that we all enjoy. We can never truly thank our veterans and their families enough for the sacrifices they have made, but we can make sure they receive the care they deserve.
