Putting Montana on the Map
"As Montana's voice in the U.S. House of Representatives, I appreciate the opportunity to bring a little bit of Montana to Congress. With over 960,000 constituents spread across the second-largest congressional district in the country, representing the best interests of Montana and its residents isn’t something than can be accomplished over the phone, through an email, or behind a desk. That’s why I’ve always made it a priority to stay in touch with everyday Montanans by returning to the state as often as possible. It’s only through face-to-face interactions that I’ve discovered, over the years, what needs to get done in Washington to make sure ‘The Last Best Place’ remains just that. Staying connected is what helps keep me grounded and focused on a no-nonsense approach to legislative politics.”
Denny is making a difference:
- Traveling to each of Montana's 56 counties every two years
- Holding town hall meetings in communities all across Montana in an effort to engage in straightforward discussions about the government’s current healthcare reform efforts and what aspects concern Montanans the most
- Making sure all Montanans and particularly senior citizens are given a choice when it comes to buying prescription drugs
- Sponsoring legislation that seeks to reclaim the hundreds of billions of dollars in unspent stimulus money currently sitting in various federal agencies and bureaus
- Supporting efforts to make the tax code simpler for Montanans by streamlining the process of paying taxes and reducing the amount of required paperwork
